Of food and other things.

Blogs are great until they lose everthing you wrote. Then they are EXCELLENT. I seriously had my blog all written, and I was trying to add a few photos from my phone for ya, and my text was deleted. Instead of throwing my computer out the window, i'm going to buckle down and try to type this out with the next 15 minutes I have before we have to walk to class (it's about a 10-15 min walk). Well, we made it through week one! We're still happy, healthy, and excited to see what's around the corner! You'd think since we've been here a week we'd have the city pretty much down. The Journey Over

Its 6:30am here, and I can’t sleep anymore. Probably because my body is telling me it’s actually about 1:30PM (pacific time) and it’s very unnatural to be sleeping right now. I decided to take this sleepless opportunity to write, and catch you up on the last three days before the real party gets started with our training starting this afternoon. Let me tell you, this whole adventure is crazy, dream-like, awesome, terrifying, and satisfying. I can’t believe we’re sitting here in our little apartment, looking out at the crowded skyline, and not being able to read a thing. The Grand Adventure

Derik and I have always been about adventure. It could be a grand trip to the beach, not to swim or tan of course, (NW beaches are known to be cold) but to search for japanese glass 'floats' just waiting to be found. Or a road-trip from the quiet town of Hollister, MO to the bustling city of Portland, OR, stopping every interesting place possible (Yellowstone National Park)to make the day that much more fun. Or maybe it's packing up 200 lbs of luggage and dragging it halfway across the world to a country most people know not the slightest about.
