There’s nothing more beautiful than experiencing the sunrise or a sunset on the ocean. Although the Philippines wins in my book for best sunsets in the entire world, Croatia definitely gave it a run for its money while we were sailing through the Dalmatian Islands with Medsailors.
After our overnight in Vis, we took off for Hvar (enjoyed some swimming activities along the way) and spent the evening in Korcula Town before heading over to Stari Grad. The day was a blur of sun, sailing, dolphins (didn’t grab my camera quick enough), seafood, drinks at sunset, and tons and tons of laughter and games. Do I even need to mention the gorgeous location?!? I couldn’t get over it.
Our port stop was a bit of a drive from Korcula Town, but Medsailors had arranged a bus for us on arrival. A quick 45-minutes later we arrived in the cutest town with its red-tiled roofs, white stone walls, and clean streets! We had strict orders to get back to the bus stop at midnight, and surprisingly enough (especially after the rooftop bar cocktails), not a single person was left behind.
Derik and I ended up sleeping on top of our yacht that night because of the summer temps, and were awakened by the most beautiful sunrise. There’s something magical about being one of the only humans awake, listening to the sound of the water hit the boat, and watching the sky light up with gorgeous pinks, oranges, and yellows. It was definitely a great way to start the day as we begin our journey to Stari Grad!
If you’re interested in sailing with Medsailors, they’ve got an early bird special going on right now for 2018! Our 7-day trip, including accommodation, breakfast and lunch, water, and skippered sailing on a Premier Plus yacht on sale now for £570 – £701 depending on what time of the year you go.
We were guests of Medsailors in exchange for an open and honest review. All opinions are my own.
