Gumboots or Galoshes?
Why are there so many names for a simple pair of boots made of rubber? This is one of the many things I think about on a daily basis. I have a weird mind.
I’m also quickly discovering that some of the words I learned growing up mean completely different things on the opposite side of the world. For example: pissed actually means drunk here. And just don’t ever mention a fanny pack, because that refers to the female anatomy. Not that we use fanny pack in our day to day language as Americans…
A few months ago I received this gorgeous dress and wellies from JoulesUSA. I most certainly am not a fashion blogger, and I hate being on the other side of the camera. After checking out the company’s website I was impressed with their quality of clothing. I was not disappointed by the items I received.
The rain boots are made of a thick rubber, yet pliable enough that I can pretty much do whatever I want to in them. I just love the red bows on the back of the boots, it adds the perfect feminine touch! There are so many different colors and patterns in the Joules shop that are gorgeous, but I’m more of a plain jane.
I picked the dress thinking it would be a great one for fall or spring. The material is heavy enough, that together with a thicker pair of tights I can wear it now (it’s still 40 degrees (F) here). It’s a little shorter than I was expecting, but it probably isn’t for most people.
Derik also ordered a few things, but they ended up being too small. We made sure to measure ourselves before we ordered, and somehow his measurements came out to be a men’s medium according to the site. We thought that was super weird because Derik is always a large, but went ahead and ordered the medium anyway. Sadly the items were too small, and I ended up re-gifting them. Both my items are true to size with what I normally wear.
Trying out my Joules wellies for the first time today has me excited to wear them during the spring rainy season!
