Saturday’s Thoughts

-I’m wondering how many of you will be confused by the fact that it’s Saturday here in Korea and Friday back in the States. Don’t worry I get my times mixed up more than I’d like to say.

-Dishes are the bane of my existence. I spend approximately 30 minutes washing them every single day, but the next morning I feel like there are more dishes in the sink then there were the night before.

-My husband and I can’t seem to fall asleep earlier than 3:00am on the weekends. I hate it. Especially since it makes us not want to wake up until 10am and half our morning is gone.

-My Christmas tree doesn’t look as full of cheer as it did last year, yet I used the exact same decorations. What’s going on.

-We made a 100% fully Korean dinner the other night, pajeon and kimchi bokkeumbap (Korean veggie pancakes and kimchi fried rice). Although we had a disaster with the pajeon and it stuck to the bottom of the pan, it actually turned out good. The bokkeumbap? No. I still hate kimchi.

-Speaking of Korea, after living here for two years, I have finally mastered the language enough to read instructions on the back of a pancake mix box. Fail or success?

-Why did I have to find out that America is now selling gingerbread Oreos? Is this some kind of expat torture?

-I wore brand new Korean hiking socks  (that I received for free with the order of my new 60L backpack) to bed last night. Although they were warm, apparently they’re a little too snug. I woke up with purple toes. hashtag-whoops.

-Seeing as how we leave for our ginormous trip on the 1st of January, we probably should start planning some stuff to do. Apparently just buying airplane tickets isn’t enough.

-Since all the places we are traveling to are tropical, we don’t want to bring bulky winter clothes with us. The problem is, the airport in which we’re leaving from is 5 hours away from us and we’ll have to take public transportation to get there. I’m not sure wearing shorts and a tank top (or a maxi dress)  in 40 degree weather is the smartest thing to do. Dilemmas, dilemmas.

-I’ve had two gingerbread lattes from Starbucks this week. I’m unashamedly going to grab another one today.

-Last week the doctor told me I was severely deficient on my vitamin and mineral intake. Maybe that’s why I’ve been having headaches, hairloss (since I’ve been in Korea), and weird pains? Don’t worry, I’ve started taking two multi’s a day,one’s a prenatal; the pills are pearly pink with the words ‘mom’ written on it. ‘Bout as cool as they come folks.
