Having the opportunity to jet away on vacation is wonderful, but being able to bring family along makes it a million times better! After spending the summer on-the-go, we were ready for a nice seven day getaway with Travelopo.com in a luxury villa (pinch me), where we could spend time with my sister, her adorable family (a great brother-in-law and two nieces under three), and a childhood friend, catching up and enjoying life.
Travelopo.com Luxury Villa Review
From the second my browser loaded Travelopo’s website, I knew we were going to have a good time, regardless of the fact we literally had no clue what our villa was going to look like until two days before we arrived. I mean, GOODNESS, have you seen the rentals on their site? Movie star quality.
Travelopo.com is one of Europe’s leading holiday rental sites, and has rentals not only in Mallorca, Spain, but throughout Europe! Each rental (whether it be villa, ski chalet, or castle) is handpicked by Travelopo to ensure it meets their standards of quality they want to bring their customers, and managed by their own local agents and property managers. Staff is available to answer your questions from the second you inquire, and follow up during and after your stay to make sure your vacation is the best it can be. Now how’s THAT for customer service?!
The anticipation was killing
us … my sister and I, to see what our villa was going to look like, and when we finally got our confirmation that we were booked to stay at the Villa Can Mos in Pollensa, I think we were literally jumping off the walls in excitement. A gorgeous stone villa awaited us with its two pools (one of those pools was an interior Roman bath), four rooms, four bathrooms, modern kitchen, and game room complete with a foosball and pingpong tables.
We booked a late flight out of Frankfurt to Palma de Mallorca, because the very same day the guys were getting back from Oktoberfest (yes, it was a nuts weekend). We had a smooth and uneventful flight with Ryanair, and two-ish hours later landed in Mallorca. It was pretty late (10:00pm) and we mistakingly rented a car through OK Rent-a-car, meaning it took a good hour and thirty minutes to flag down one of their shuttle buses to take us to our rental car. Long story short, never rent from OK, they’ll hit you with all sorts of hidden fees not within your reservation or contract…and then refuse to drive you to the airport unless you pay.
After our sour encounter with OK rental car, we hit the road and headed over to the other side of the island to Pollensa where our villa waited for us. After a forty-five minute drive, we arrived to the most beautiful gate and driveway I’ve ever seen! Seriously, though, #moviestarstatus as we pulled up to the villa. Our grogginess seemed to escape us, and we ran around claiming rooms and checking out everything for the next hour before we finally turned in for the night.
We spent the next week exploring Mallorca, enjoying the pool with the little ones, sipping sangria, and eating tons and tons of food. Villa Can Mos was the perfect size for the family, and even my nieces adjusted nicely to it! I was worried the villa wouldn’t be very kid friendly, but Travelopo did a great job pairing us up with a villa that would suit a young family + more, and for that I’m thankful! They even made sure to place high chairs, baby bowls, forks, spoons, and cups for us so we wouldn’t have to go out and buy any.
As I said above, the villa came fully equipped with everything we needed: a full kitchen, bbq, four bedrooms (two with in-suite baths), four bathrooms, a formal dining room, a living room, a gym, roman bath interior pool, outdoor pool, and game room. The villa itself was spotless, but also had cleaning supplies on hand just in case things got a little messy (we did have two small children with us). We also had orange, lemon, and lime fruit trees outside and made quite a bit of fresh juice throughout the week.
The rooms themselves were very spacious and full of natural light. When we first arrived, believe it or not, there wasn’t much negotiating over the rooms, because they all were incredible! The furniture and fixtures were new and modern (I would say within the last year), and in no way would you look at the villa and think, “This has definitely been lived in.” Dream house? I think yes.
Overall we had a fantastic time during our stay at Villa Can Mos with Travelopo, and I would definitely consider renting a holiday villa from them in the future!
